It's Garden Time!

Darren made a wooden frame for a veggie planter, and on Saturday, 3 March 2012, we put it in the yard and filled it with soil and compost from Whitter Fertilizer. On Sunday, March 4, I planted snow peas, shelling peas, and asparagus in the veggie patch, and sowed some other seeds in my little seed starter indoor greenhouse thingy from last year: Tomatoes, carrots, leeks, jalapenos, spaghetti squash and buttercup squash. I plan to plant some cucumber and green onion seeds in the patch by the weekend, along with a few poppies and/or sunflowers. I'm hungry!

Photos to follow soon....

Monarch Butterfly

A monarch butterfly came to visit our euryops daisies:

Broncos beat Steelers 29-23 in shortest NFL Playoff OT ever!

Tim Tebow! Champ Bailey! Eddie Royal! Demaryius Thomas! Elvis Dumervil! John Fox! John Elway! et al! Nice win Denver Broncos! Those Stealers couldn't steal it this time!

Happy End of 2011!

Dorothy says, "Ah, I'm sick of Christmas!" while Genever says, "But look! There's more presents!!"

Goodnight, Sun!

Tofurky Day!

My Tofurky Roast with veggies, before going into the oven:

And after coming out of the oven, ready to eat!

Mini Squash

I got a butternut squash from the garden!! It's a little small though. LOL

In fact, some of the buttercup squashes were tiny too. 2 normal ones and 2 midgetized ones.

Nosy Neighbor

Dorothy likes to keep an eye on the hood.

Dorothy had surgery!

She got her pesky skin tumor removed today, under local anesthetic and sedation. She's a bit wobbly but seems ok. The vet said she was such a good kitty, and super sweet! My girls always make me a proud catmom.

Her new haircut and stitches:

But she wasn't too groggy to join Genever and help me with my accounting project:

So serious...
